1:18 1966 Gulf Blue Ford GT40 Le Mans #1 Diecast

During the 1950's and 60's, Ferrari was the most successful automaker in the motor racing. Then Ford Motor Company teamed with Shelby American to challenge Ferrari and the other European companies on the track. This epic struggle has been told in movies, books, and magazines worldwide.

In 1966, Carroll Shelby, driver/competition director Ken Miles, and their race team helped Ford beat Ferrari at Le Mans with the Mk II Ford GT40. The GT40 dominated the race, finishing first, second and third. The mighty GT40 won Le Mans for the next three years, too.

This MkII GT40 is a recreation of the car that Miles drove both at Le Mans and to victory at Daytona that year. Powered by a 427 big block Ford motor, it was said to reach speeds of approximately 215 mph.

Celebrate this limited edition 1:18 scale signed by Aaron Shelby (Carroll's grandson), Peter Miles (Ken's son), and 1966 Shelby American GT40 Crew Chief Charlie Agapiou.

Only 215 are available, to commemorate the car's top speed.
